# Phone number handling defaults changed in release v2.0.19

With the release of SCA v2.0.19 we changed the default setting regarding phone number handling in favor for our international customers.

Until the release of SCA v2.0.19, the default setting for the automatic completion of [invalid telephone numbers](/documentation/valid-phone-numbers-for-sca.md) ([PhoneNumberParseCountryCode\_Option](/documentation/app-configuration-policy-name-values-for-sca/sca-configuration-seccontacts.defaults.md#appearance-and-functions)) was set to `DE` (Germany)

If set to `DE` SCA attempts to complete every telephone number that [is NOT in international format](/documentation/valid-phone-numbers-for-sca.md) with a German area code. This default set to `DE` is only usefull for German customers.&#x20;

So in SCA v2.0.19 we changed it to `false` which is the recommended value of this setting now. \
More on this topic [please see here](/documentation/valid-phone-numbers-for-sca.md).

## Are you affected?

You are NOT affected by this change if you are an international customer OR if you have already explicitly set [PhoneNumberParseCountryCode\_Option](/documentation/app-configuration-policy-name-values-for-sca/sca-configuration-seccontacts.defaults.md#appearance-and-functions).<br>

You may be affected by this change if you are a German customer AND if you have NOT explicitly set [PhoneNumberParseCountryCode\_Option](/documentation/app-configuration-policy-name-values-for-sca/sca-configuration-seccontacts.defaults.md#appearance-and-functions). \
\
In this case, simply set [PhoneNumberParseCountryCode\_Option](/documentation/app-configuration-policy-name-values-for-sca/sca-configuration-seccontacts.defaults.md#appearance-and-functions) explicitly to `“DE”`.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.secure-contacts.com/archiv/phone-number-handling-defaults-changed-in-release-v2.0.19.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
